Oh, why do you like science so much?

This was the thing that terrified my friends. “How can you like something so hard?” they said. Well it is not that hard – it is just more complex. The connections between different molecules are incredible.  The laws that everybody abides by and never manages to break are fascinating. The tiny living things in the soil that allow the plants to grow are like a miracle. The curiosity of a child is an incredible force – asking restlessly. And the science is the class that gives the answers. Even better – it gives a way to search for your own answers.

Animals – can you really choose only one?

A friend of mine asked me once about my favorite animal. I study biology – how can I have a favorite animal. There are so many choices. The kitten next door, the penguins, the tigers, the koalas are all very cute. Even in the lab, when we look at some microorganisms they seem so full of life, so energetic and always one the move. How can a person not like animals? I had a cat for thirteen years. I love cats. My neighbor has 2 dogs. How can I hate dogs?  A friend of mine has a snake and 3 big spiders plus an iguana in his home. And they are all beautiful and deserve to be loved.

Onemanga.com – my favorite place on the web.

I wondered once why this is my favorite site. I instantly found some good answers – I like to read manga, I enjoy a good laugh. But after that I realized – are this the only things that I do there? Well, this isn’t the case. With the almost instant updates of the most popular titles and even not the most popular ones, it is really a great place to be. It has forums, where you can talk to other people with the same interests. Add a friendly community and there it is – a perfect oasis in the boring desert of the World Wide Web.

Careless Teen

I would like to be a careless teenager all over again. No care for the future, no past, only the present. The time when I felt like I was born to be immortal. The clouds of smoke, the strong beverages and the parties like there was no tomorrow. The garage Jam sessions of wannabe rock stars. When we penned and sang our lyrics about love, peace and utopia. Those were the years when we were scared to reach the twentieth year of our lives. Head banging for eternity, teenage years do come back to me, cuddle me and take me back to you in time. Where is my TIME MACHINE?

Accident

Ambulance Parking: Part 6

The hardest thing I had to do was to carry my dead friend from the accident site to the ambulance and then take him to the hospital and to see him stitched up like a rag doll after the autopsy. I was driving and Sunil was riding the pillion when a truck hit us and we were thrown out, when I recovered my senses I discovered he was dead. I called home as the ambulance and police arrived. I was driving the bike, so it was the guilt and the sadness of loss that till today shakes me from time to time. It all happened ten years ago.

Taking Care of Dogs

Taking care of a dog or dogs, can be quite a demanding task. You need to be able allocate time and effort to give the dog attention, walks, regular feeds and visits to the veterinary surgery. which then leads into the financial costs of having a dog. You need to buy dog supplies, such as food, a basket, a collar and lead, also some toy’s for it to play with when you go out, or if it is left alone, because they will chew the furniture! If you plan on going away for a few day’s or on holiday, then you will need to find somebody to look after it for you, this can be quite a challenge! Hence the need, for dog kennel’s. If you do need to take the dog to the kennel’s, then it will have to have documentation from the vet’s, showing vaccination records.

I enjoy swimming in the sea

I go to swim almost every day to the Carbyn’s Cove to swim with my wife. I love to float on the waves. I like it when hard waves hit me, tumble me and mess me. The water and the surf invigorate me. The salty taste of the sea is nectar to me. Sea and swimming is my therapy. I feel like I am born again every time I am done with my swimming. Tired in a sensual way, I am light like a feather after every swim. At times the sea is absolutely like a swimming pool or a lake. At times it is playful and at times it is angry. I like to swim in all its Avatars.

Older Brother

The funniest thing was when by older brother visited us last October from Japan. He is a sailor and he met my wife for the first time, who told him a lot of Snake stories when I was not at home on the first day. He listened to her diligently and formally as it was their first meeting. And it is true that we have encountered snakes innumerable times on these islands. We have found them inside the house a few times too. This was all told to my brother. On the third day of his arrival, after a tiring day touring places, my brother had more than his usual quota of vodkas and was coming to the dinner table when he screamed so loud in panic, that I panicked and rushed to him. I laughed my guts out because a toy snake which was coiled around the clock had inadvertently fallen on him as he banged the door a little too strongly. He scolded us, caught his breath and laughed with us and asked for another drink.

Scuba Diving to Havelock Islands

I went Scuba Diving to Havelock Islands last week. I was with my wife who is a good diver. We completed our six dives (two a day) with the help of the Dive Shop called Dive India. We snorkeled too during breaks. It was great fun. We dived at Neil Island, Elephant beach, Turtle beach and the Nursery. We drove around the tiny island on a rented scooter in the evenings. On the last night there was a progressive trance party at the Wild Orchid Resort, and we joined our new and old friends and partied like mad. It was a great week indeed!

My Pet Animal

My pet animal is a dog. She is as white as SNOW, so we call her SNOWY. She is very beautiful and smart. she possesses small body with angel eyes. she is the member of our family. She loves all of us and shares our movement of joy and sorrow. She responds well to my call. She is not afraid. She loves traveling, so we keep fancy car seat covers on the seats. She enjoys playing with the ball, dislikes taking bath. Snowy has clean habits. She performs various jobs like picking up the newspapers, calling daddy for dinner and guiding my grand father to market. She has an extremely sensitive nose for food, animal and people. She can recognize the strangers and unwelcome visitors. My snowy has a good hearing power. She wags her tail when she is happy or when I return from college. Though small in body snowy is strong, agile and intelligent. She does not make house dirty. Snowy taught us to LOVE animals as they also have sentiments and feelings like we people.
