My Thoughts on the Current Recession

I consider myself to be generally an optimist, but this current recession has caused me to reflect less optimistically about the state of the economy and its future.  The factors leading up this current recession seemed all so avoidable, but an underlying greed brought the economy almost to utter ruin.  The catalyst was the crash in the housing market and this crash was brought about by greedy mortgage brokers and investment managers who were looking for a way to increase profits exponentially.  The financial crisis across banks and other constituents also suffered from an almost total lack of ethical constraint as they took major risks that would have been thought too dangerous and reckless decades earlier.

Optional

I am a huge Florida Gators fan which many people find particularly offensive; due to the fact, I live in Georgia. However I grew up with my dad being a diehard fan and it is the one thing we can share and bond over. I cannot decide if I like the team out of genuine admiration or if it is something I just grasp onto because it is the one thing that brings me and my father closer. Either way it is something I am very passionate about. This Saturday they will be playing in the SEC championship, and I am very excited to watch this game with my dad.

Protect Your Best Friend in the Car

Many responsible pet owners load their dogs into their vehicles on a daily basis without a thought to a restraint system for the animal in the event of a collision. We diligently strap ourselves and out children into the vehicle, but it has never been a habit to do the same for our dogs. Dog seat belts are a great way to protect your dog in the event a crash occurs. Some dog owners have never seen or heard or of dog seat belts, so the fact that they are under used is not surprising. Not only do they protect the animal in a crash, but they protect people in the vehicle from being struck by the animal. They are also a good way to keep the dog from unexpectedly jumping around his vehicle, which can also be a safety hazard. There are several varieties of dog seat belts available but in pet stores and on the internet. The most comfortable would seemingly be a harness which fits over the dogs shoulders and chest and attached to the car seat belt with a clip in the back.

Wearing

Today, I am wearing brown yoga pants from Hollister co, a gray, zip up, hooded jacket from Victoria Secret and a simple tank top from old navy. Since today was my off day from work, I chose to wear lounge clothes that were comfortable and easy to move in while I got housework done.  The yoga pants are by far one of my favorite wardrobe staples as they can be dressed up or down and are very comfortable. My jacket is grey and light weight which is great incase I start getting hot cleaning up. My tank top is a great layering piece and can be worn with many outfits. It usually isn’t a fashion show for me on lazy days such as today, but at least I am comfy!
