I am looking at buying a new car right now. I have been checking the internet sites like Craigslist every day. I originally wanted to get a Volkswagen Jetta because they are nice cars that get good gas mileage and I like the way they look. I also thought about getting a Nissan Altima because they are also nice cars. However, I am thinking about getting a Subaru Forester because my boyfriend’s Ford Ranger just died and now we don’t have a car at all. He is thinking about getting an old muscle car so that would mean we wouldn’t have a good car for going camping or things like that. I have heard good things about Subaru cars so now I am leaning that direction, but it depends on how cheap I can find one for.

I just moved to Eureka, California to attend Humboldt State University. I live in a 2 bedroom, 2 and a half bathroom house with my boyfriend. The house is tan on the outside and has carpet throughout except in the kitchen and bathrooms. I like the house but feel that we are paying too much for it, which apparently is common in this area. It is an older house, without a dishwasher or microwave, or washer and dryer. It also has a lot of mold and mildew that I have to clean on a regular basis. The area I live in is great, though. I love Humboldt County. It’s very beautiful and has a lot of great hiking and camping areas as well as beaches. It is perfect for people who like the outdoors. My allergies are pretty bad here right now because of all of the mold and pollen, though.

Today I wore my pajamas for the first half of the day because I was home alone, not going anywhere, and it was cold. They are green and blue checked flannel pants and a green t-shirt. I also wore some snuggly red and white wool socks to keep my feet warm and a big black sweatshirt with a picture of Bob Marley on it. I then changed into some dark jeans with peace signs on the pockets and a yellow tank top because I was cleaning and didn’t want to stay in pajamas all day. I still wore the snuggly wool socks and the Bob Marley sweatshirt, though.

I think that if I could have anything in the world I would have to say independence. The most important thing to me is that I don’t have to rely on others to take care of me my entire life. I really want to be able to support myself and my family both financially and emotionally. I think that getting an education is how I am working towards this. I am going to school to make sure that I have a good career and develop intellectually and emotionally. That way I will never feel helpless and unable to care for myself. I will feel more confident in my abilities, too.
